I’m tired of going out everyday. Been doing that for weeks on end. It’s a fact. Shopping can be stressful, blehhh. My sis baked my kid a birthday cake last night for his birthday, a day late though. Gordon turned 5 on Friday. That explains the outings. So, after cake at her place, it’s almost midnight when we came home. Bundled the kids off to bed and by the time i hit the sack, it’s almost 4am. I brought some DVDs back and watched them one after another. What to do? Hubby’s pwnd my pc.
I woke up early. Or lets just say Gordon woke up early and played games on my pc with the volume on at full blast, waking me up in the process. He saw me sitting up in bed and came asking for breakfast. After rummaging around the fridge and kitchen cabinets, this is what i prepared. Brunch consists of fried eggs with Heinz Baked Beans in Barbeque Sauce. Organic Kamut pasta with Prego Spaghetti Sauce. I even cooked minced pork marinated in Teriyaki Sauce and a dash of Lea and Perrins Worchestershire Sauce. Enough to feed my small family of four.
Doesnt take long to prepare. I used the time needed to cook the Kamut pasta to dish up the eggs, beans and minced pork. Say, 30 minutes or so to get food on the table. Not bad, huh. This will keep all of us full until late evening. I have a feeling hubby will want to drag us all out again later on. He loves to dine out. We’re celebrating our nation’s 51st Merdeka (Independence) Day today. As it falls on a Sunday, tomorrow’s a holiday. With the long weekend, i bet everywhere’s jam-packed with shoppers. Till then.

San Remo happens to be one of my favorite brand of pasta. My whole family loves to eat pasta. It’s simple and quick to prepare. I found that it’s difficult for kids to eat spaghetti without cutting them up. That’s why i buy them this packet of colorful San Remo Vegeroni Spirals. My elder kid have no problem eating this. But i have to cut each piece into two for my two year old boy.

Do you like to eat Spirals? I find that they pick up the pasta sauce better. They also go well with soups. I havent tried frying them with minced meat and vegetables before. Hubby told me to make some one day. Care to share some of your recipes made with this San Remo Vegeroni Spirals?

Hubby loves Indian food. I have to go to Ipoh Oldtown to do my banking each month, and each time, hubby will want to have lunch at Shah Curry House. I’m okay with it if it’s not too spicy. Spicy to me means the kind that stings your tongue and leaves a lingering heat inside your stomach for hours.
What i had for lunch at Shah Curry House this afternoon was white rice with petai and anchovies, curry cuttlefish, and mixed vegetables of corn, onions, cucumber with aromatic spices. Delicious. A few of my girlfriends are married to Indians. Wonder if they can cook Indian food or not. Do you like Indian food?

I mentioned in my previous post that i’ll go dig my cookies recipe book out, right. After putting my kids to bed, i did some digging and found it without much problem. I have all three books by Alex Goh, of the same series. This is the Joy Of Making Cookies. The other two is for making cakes and bread.
I bought these books when i was pregnant with Gordon back in 2003. I had an urge to bake all of a sudden and went out to buy all the necessary baking items needed to satisfy that urge. And i dont even have an oven, only a microwave oven. The books are just part of the things i bought.
I havent baked anything from this Joy Of Making Cookies recipe book before. I baked some cakes and lots of bread when i was pregnant though. Time i try my hand at cookie baking this time. Who knows, i might like it and become creative at baking cookies. I’ll never know till i try.
