Steamed mini pomfret

Dont be jealous of me when i tell you i’m married to a man whose family business involves seafood, seafood, and more seafood. Each day, we are bound to eat fish. Frankly speaking, i dont know their names. My FIL understands fish so well that he knows how best to cook it in order to bring out their flavor. Dont argue with someone who’s been selling fish since 12.

Steamed mini pomfret

Today, he brought some mini pomfrets back. Arent they cute? In my opinion, these mini pomfrets taste much better than those big restaurant ones. The flesh is soft, tender and sweet. Best eaten steamed with a dash of light soya sauce and sesame oil. Fry some ginger slices and sprinkle over the dish together with some chopped spring onions the moment it’s done. Do try making some steamed mini pomfrets if you happen to buy some back.

Oldtown Kopitiam Nissin Noodles

Nissin Noodles is just another name for instant noodles. It’s actually the brand of the noodle. You can buy Nissin Noodles from just about any departmental store. But frankly speaking, as far as instant noodles are concerned, i prefer our local varieties as they are almost the same thing albeit a different pricetag. Imported stuffs are expensive, you know. Almost triple the price of our local brands.

I was cooking noodles for my kid when my phone rang. Went to pick it up and forgot all about the instant noodle in the pot. By the time i remembered, it’s already way overdone and looked more like a gooey mass than a bowl of noodles, lol. Hubby suggested we take him for lunch at Oldtown Kopitiam before sending him to school. Not that i have much choice anyway.

I ordered him Nissin Noodles since he was anticipating something like this for lunch back home. Of course, homecooked version wont have MSG in it. He loves eggs with everything and Nissin Noodles comes with an egg, a few miserable vegetables and some chicken ham. He only eats the Nissin Noodles and egg. The rest, i gaotim. What an expensive lunch….. sigh….. Are you going to watch Moonlight Resonance for free? It’s gonna air soon. You can get all the Moonlight Resonance streaming and download links here.

Beef noodle

Instant noodles junkies may want to give this Beef Noodles a try. I bought it from Jaya Jusco last week. Cant really remember how much it cost as i threw away the bill. A bit on the pricey side as far as instant noodles are concerned. As for the taste, it’s not bad. Can almost pass for the real beef noodles you normally eat at the hawker stalls.

Beef noodle

This brand of instant noodles also has a few other flavors too. If i can find it elsewhere apart from Jaya Jusco, i dont mind trying the rest out. It’s just too far from where i live and you know how costly petrol is these day, huh. I just hope our Government will lower it soon as global oil prices has dropped a lot since they raised it in June.

Fernleaf Calci Yum

Oh, this is one of my kid’s favorite desert. It’s just yogurt. I used to share with them mine. But hubby says these comes in smaller cups and in a variety of flavors too. The quantity is more suitable for kids if they want to eat it all on their own.

Calci Yum 1

Calci Yum comes in a pack of 4s. This one is in Mango flavor and has a light yellow color.

Calci Yum 2

This is how it looks like once opened.

In the mood to buy an Automatic Breadmaker

I saw some Automatic Breadmaker Pre-mix at Cold Storage the other day. I’ve not made bread for a long long time. If i’m not wrong, the last time i ever touched an Automatic Breadmaker was when i was pregnant with my first kid, lol. OHMYGAWDDD… that was like more than 5 years ago!!!!

Anyway, i borrowed the Automatic Breadmaker from a friend since she stopped using it after the novelty of owning a new kitchen appliance wore off, lol. I even made a few good bread with it too with recipes i found online. I think it’s also time i buy myself an Automatic Breadmaker. Any recommendations?
