It’s raining here in Ipoh now. Though the air-cond is set at 24 deg Celsius, i’m still feeling the cold with my sweater on. The last thing i want to do now is to get out of bed and cook something for my rumbling stomach. I really wanted to hide under the sheets but Gordon is up and he wanted “cookies”. Hubby bought a lot from Jusco Supermarket last week. And so, what to do. No choice but to get out of bed and head to the kitchen.
We seldom buy branded cookies nowadays unless they are really good. We’ve tried many different types of cookies from the cookies aisle near the wine section and found them to be fresh and tasty. Just like what you get in boxes, but minus the pricetag. Moreover, my kids get to try them before we buy, lol. We’re such a regular there that the workers couldnt be bothered to stop our kids from munching on the cookies. Of course, we dont go overboard with it. Only a few.
There’s food on the kitchen table. Some stir-fried cucumbers with dried prawns and chillies, and one fish. My MIL must have cooked this for my FIL early this morning. The lazybum in me decided to eat some of it with hot rice instead of cooking an instant noodle with egg. Afterall, this is Asia, and we do eat rice for breakfast, k. Rice is our staple food. What did you eat for breakfast this morning?

I was always following your Organic Life blog…then decided to venture to your other blogs. YOu only have 3 right?
Reckon I will be following this one more now coz I am thinking of getting a toaster as well…maybe one like yours. A convention microwave is very expensive and if I am baking small scale, no point having to heat up a whole 40 litre oven ya!
You are from Ipoh? I am from there too….cool! Seldom meet bloggers from Ipoh!
Ann, thanks for dropping by and leaving me a comment here. I have more than 3 blogs, lol. Well over a hundred at any one time.
As for your toaster oven, may i suggest you get one slightly bigger than mine. Say 20 over litres. I find the heating element in mine is far too near the food. And it’s only a single bar at the top and another at the bottom. I quite like both the Moulinex (both Parkson and JJ has it in white) and Tefal toaster ovens (imho, a bit costly).
Baking with the toaster takes some trial and error. But it bakes well when you lower the temperature by about 25 deg and adding a few extra minutes to the cooking/baking time. Just need to experiment with it.
Cheers to Ipoh bloggers. Maybe we’ll meet one day.
