Pages Of Treasures – My Recipes & Cook Books

These are my precious Pages Of Treasures. Filled with so many of my favorite recipes. I may not be the ultimate domestic diva, but with a little help from my recipe books, i do come up with something for my family to enjoy every now and then. Thank God i have a very supportive husband who doesnt complaint about my cooking much.

There are still a few good recipe and cookbooks that i want to add to my ever increasing collection. Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay and Nigella Lawson’s Cookbooks are just to name a few. I think there’s something magical about cookbooks and their food porn. Just make me keep buying and buying them.

I just wish the day comes when i move to my own place. I will have a cosy kitchen complete with all the necessary kitchen appliances to make scrumptious meals for my family. And of course, a huge bookcase to store all my precious recipes and cookbooks. Those are real Pages Of Treasures, you know.

Talking of Pages Of Treasures, there is an upcoming TVB drama series by that name. Are you going to watch it? I am. Well, i’ve left the link here if you want to watch Pages Of Treasures streaming online. Hope the series is just as good as my recipes and cookbook collection. Enjoy the drama series, ya.

Christmas Gingerbread Cookie And Gingerbread Tree Kits

Christmas Gingerbread Cookie And Gingerbread Tree Kits

I went to Wah Seng, Ipoh’s largest baking supplies store this afternoon. They’ve set up a table right in the middle of the store and i saw so many beautiful Christmas Gingerbread Cookie Kits and Gingerbread Tree Kits there. At first, i thought those are Gingerbread Man pre-mixes complete with Gingerbread Man cookie cutter and i was so tempted to buy a set back. But no, it’s actually a kit with 8 pre-baked Gingerbread Man and some icing for your own DIY decorating. Hmmmm…. no fun lerr lidat, haimai. Too shortcut for my liking, lol.

The Gingerbread Tree Kits also contain pre-baked cookies. Just stack the cookies on top of each other and decorate as you like. No brainer, mah. But i guess for those who doesnt like to bake, or those who just cant bake at all, these will be great Kits to buy back and let the kids have some fun with. Christmas isnt complete without Gingerbread Man Cookies and Gingerbread Houses, eh. Oh, i still have time to consider whether to buy a set or two back or not. Let’s see how my mood goes. I just may.

If you dont have the time to bake Gingerbread Man Cookies and make Gingerbread Houses. Dont worry. We now live in the internet age and everything is available at the click of a mouse. For your convenience, i will be setting up a store where you can find Everything Gingerbread for Christmas. From pre-baked cookie kits to Gingerbread cookie cutters and Gingerbread House kits. So, check out the Gingerbread Supplies Store later on, k.

Noodle Omelette

If you ask my kid what he wants to eat, chances are, he will tell you he wants “Meen-meen egg”; meaning noodle with egg. It’s his all-time favorite. I guess i can relate to that as i love a simple bowl of noodle with an egg too. Kinda like comfort food to me. Tonight is just another ordinary night with an ordinary request from my extraordinary kid. He walked up to me and told me “I want Meen-meen egg, Mama”. How can i refuse such an ordinary request, you tell me.

But tonight, the ordinary mom wants to make something out-of-the-ordinary for her extraordinary kid. And after getting the needed ingredients out, i had an idea to make him a Noodle Omelette. Prepared with all the same old ingredients, but with a different finished look. I used a packet of chicken flavored Maggi Mee Lite (MSG-free), two eggs and some minced pork marinated with Teriyaki Sauce. You can add vegetables if you like but my kid doesnt like it.

Noodle Omelette Ingredients

Here’s how i made the Noodle Omelette for my kid. First, i cooked the packet of instant noodle together with the packet of seasoning. Drain off the soup and set aside. I then fry the minced pork with my small Tefal 12cm egg frying pan till fragrant. Next, mix all three ingredients in a big bowl and add some McCormick Garlic Powder with Parsley (optional) to it.

To cook, pour the mixture slowly onto my Tefal stir-fry pan. Do not stir. Cook it over medium heat and make sure the bottom doesnt burn. Flip it over and cook the other side till it’s done, gaotim. Note, i didnt use oil in this Noodle Omelette recipe. Instead i rubbed the base of my Tefal Stir-fry pan with some olive oil before i pour the mixture into it so that i can move the Noodle Omelette easily.

Noodle Omelette on plate

This is how my Noodle Omelette like. I dont have any cheese at home. If not, i would transfer the Noodle Omelette to a plate after the bottom is done, top it with some cheese and place it into my Philips toaster oven and bake it for a few minutes till the cheese is browned. Sounds yummy hoh. If you have the time, you can even fry the mixture in smaller batches or make them into bite-sized nuggets. Makes a great snack. *keys in note into my Nokia N82 to go buy cheese on my next grocery shopping trip*

Noodle Omelette

Up close and personal shot of my Noodle Omelette. Looks like a pizza hoh. It’s really tasty and both my kids enjoyed it very much. At least i managed to get this shot after i finshed washing everything up. I only got a small bite *sulks*. Haih… what’s new. Happiness is seeing them enjoying their food. If you have picky eaters, this Noodle Omelette may get them to eat. Just add whatever you want to this simple Noodle Omelette Recipe to make it different. Cooking for kids sure’s fun, eh.
