MIL cooked a vegetarian dish as it’s normal for everyone to eat “Jai” on Chor 1. We had a little but i forgot to take a pic of this year’s Chinese New Year Chor 1 vegetarian dish. You can see the one we had last year. It’s exactly the same homecooked vegetarian dish each year.
Hubby and i took the kids to Sushi King at Parkson for Lou Sang. Let’s just say this is our very own CNY tradition. And yes, the Sushi King Yee Sang is really really mini.Aiya, for the “Yee-Tau” jek mah.
As for our super picky eater, Malcolm, we ordered something that we think he might like. It’s Seafood Pancake. And this is how it looked like. Has lots of fried tempura bits and mayonaise on top of the very small coaster-sized seafood pancake. I think it’s just bits of chopped up seafood in egg batter. And no, Malcolm didnt like it one bit. He ended up eating two Tamago Sushi instead.
Hubby’s Sukiyaki Udon set. Sushi King no longer has Sukiyaki Set in their menu, and this is the closest thing to it that we can have. Well, hubby gave me 80% of the beef, lol.
I ordered this as i saw somen with soup and also rice with egg and eel in a single set. Gordon can have whichever he likes and just as i expected, he chose the somen with soup. Malcolm also had about 4 spoonfuls as he loves soup very much. I ate the rice, the tempura and also the miserably tiny bowl of salad, lol.
After lunch, hubby took Malcolm with him as i had to go over to Starbucks to meet up with Lilian and Daniel. Two friends whom i’ve not met since the day i left school way back in 1988. 20 freaking years, man. We actually met up last Saturday at Oldtown Kopitiam near my house when they were back. But since everyone’s so free on Chor 1, we decided to meet up again. We have a lot to 8 mah.
Ok, i pimped them up here. This is the pic we took on Saturday. Awwww…. see…. We still looked the same mah, haimai. Nothing much has changed worrrr. Hope they dont come kill me next year :p. Now, on to Chor 2….
