My Lunch Of Rice, Stuffed Tofu And Vegetables

What can you expect to eat when one’s on diet, lol. This is what i had for lunch. Rice of mixed wholegrains accompanied by Stuffed Tofu and Stir-fried Vegetables. I hate the fact there’s so much white rice in the mix but my in-laws cannot stand too much brown rice, red rice, buckwheat groats, and such. Say it’s too hard for them worr. Give and take a little lah, haimai.

Starting tonight, we’ll be getting E.U (Emergency Unit), a new drama series. I’ve decided to leave the links here once and for all so that you all can download or watch E.U online streaming for free. Remember to wait for the streaming page to load, ya.

Are you a resident of Ipoh? My mother came from Ipoh before migrating to Sydney. But she’s been gone for 5 years. Tell me, is “Ipoh Hor Fun” still the signature dish from Ipoh?

Yes, I’m from Ipoh. And Ipoh Hor Fun is still the best in the world!!!

I heard too that the best “bean sprouts” come from Ipoh. They’re often fat & juicy – is that still true? There’s a lack of good genuine Malaysian food here in Sydney inspite of the many “malaysian” cafes 7 restaurants here. Pity.

This is due to the water quality in Ipoh. You cant replicate the bean-sprout grown here. But i guess the hor-fun can be easily bought, right.

Not that easy but there’s a place we go to every Tues. The chef cooks at home and people come to sample his food(usually by word of mouth). The menu is set & different every Tues, he sometimes cooks Ipoh Hor Fun – quite good actually. His charges are quite cheap AUD7.00 for the main.
By the way, do you have a good recipe for Chinese Roast Pork – Siew Yoke?
    Thanks.

Lemme go ask my mom and mil. I’m sure they have a good one to share.

I agree. It’s hard to find good malaysian food here in Sydney. I’m from penang and is constantly searching for malaysian food which resembles the taste at home. By the way, where’s this place that you go on Tues? I’d love to try it. Sounds good!

Oh, this is for Rossi, lol. And i was trying my best to think “what tues”, LOL!!!

This is for Angel: The place I go to on Tues is at the chef’s home in Eastwood. You’ve to be referred to by someone (e.g. me) as they try to be discreet about letting ppl in (neighbours get sticky abt crowds to the hse). But the food is good, though. It’ll be a great place to go if you’re living in the neighbouring area.

Take me along, lol. I have a God-Ma in Melbourne and my God-bro is in Sydney. But i havent been to Oz. One day….. one day….. one day….
