I was browsing through my photo album when i came across this pic. It was taken on 31st December 2008, night of New Year’s Eve. We were at Kinta City for Baskin Robbins Ice Creams. Baskin Robbins offers its customers a whopping 31% discount off their ice creams on months that has 31 days in it.
I just realized that today’s 31st May, and hubby’s still not back yet. There goes my ice-cream treat. The remaining months with 31 days in 2009 are July, August, October and December. I love Garlic Toast very much. Had this at Oldtown Kopitiam the other day. It’s been a while since i last made my own garlic bread. Must get back to making bread on a more regular basis. Cant be buying commercial bread forever, right. Nothing beats the aroma of fresh bread baking in the oven.
I hope i have the time to go get myself a new breadmaker. It’s the school holidays, and i’d love to use the time to make some homemade organic bread for a change. Starting next week, let’s watch a new drama series. It’s The Threshold Of A Persona. So, dont forget to check back each weekday for the new episodes. You’re looking at one of the most delicious butter cakes money can buy in Ipoh. It’s none other than the famous Nancy Chong’s Butter Cake. She makes great fruit cakes too.My kids dont fancy Nancy Chong’s fruit cake. My mom loves it though. My sis bought her one for Mother’s Day. I only had one bite, lol.
I bought this yesterday. It’s inside the fridge now. I dont think it’ll last very long. I’m always tempted to go cut myself a piece every now and then. Gordon’s 1st birthday cake (2004) was by Nancy Chong, in the shape of a Mickey Mouse. The cake was bigger than him, lol. Isnt Gordon’s Mickey Mouse Cake gorgeous? (i think the mader’s more gorgeous :p)
Nancy Chong’s butter cake was all the rage when i was a little girl. Moms will commission Nancy Chong to bake their kids a butter cake for their birthdays. I usually have lunch with hubby right after sending the kids to school. He travels so often now that i only get to see him a day or two in a week. I seldom get to blog much whenever he’s back. We’ll go pak-thor until it’s time to go pick the kids from school. Yesterday, we had lunch at The Coffee Bean at Kinta City Ipoh.
Hubby isnt a coffee-drinker but what caught his eye was this banner outside The Coffee Bean. The word “TEA” is sure to make him take a second look at what’s on offer. I still have some credit in my Coffee Bean Card and so, we decided to dine there for a change.
He cannot decide on what to eat and went and peek at the Cake Counter instead. Fuyoh….. so many. How to choose lah. Just like Malcolm, hoh.
And this is what we had for lunch yesterday. I ordered Chicken Lasagna and a Double Vanilla Tea Latte. He had Apple Crumble and Iced Chai Tea Latte. Both drinks are not too bad. He made a mistake by ordering large drinks. How to finish.
This is hubby’s Apple Crumble.
Come take a closer look at the fillings. It’s really good. I only had a small bite. He whacked the whole slice up without asking me if i wanted more. *sulks*
This is my Chicken Lasagna.
I love Coffee Bean’s pasta sauce. The lasagna is very filling. That’s good cos i was famished. There’s decent amount of cheese in it but not much chicken though. Put more inside lah, Coffee Bean. You know how much you are charging your patrons or not?
Burpppppp…… finish liao. The cost? Rm50.30. I also topped up my Coffee Bean card with another 100 bucks. I now have about 700 coffee bean card loyalty points in it. That’s around Rm7 bucks of extra credit where i can claim for anything on my next trip there.
As for my Double Vanilla Tea Latte, i only managed this much over lunch. Poured the rest into hubby’s cup and we drank that as we went to check out the cars on display at the concourse area. The Nissan Selphy looks good but we wont be buying a car till next year. And that’s IF the Wira shows signs of conking out, lol.

I went to check on my homemade yogurt at 10.30am sharp. It’s more than the 12 hours needed to make a wholesome tub of homemade yogurt. You can go and read my post on how to make homemade yogurt here.
And boy, isnt my tub of homemade yogurt perfect? It really is. I can tell that it’s firm and has just the right amount of water content. And yes, i can smell the mango flavor. My kids are going to love it. It’ll have to go into the fridge a for a couple of hours.
Hubby and i went out for lunch and we only ate the homemade yogurt when we got home later in the evening. Malcolm took about two spoonfuls and that’s it. DOWANNNN. He’s like that. As long as i can get him to take a little bit everyday, i’m one happy mom. Gordon loves it very much. My sis dropped by just now and i gave her a bowl. She also loves it very much and asked me to make some for her. Haiya… no problem lah.
I’ll be making this all year round. If you want to be healthy, then eat more yogurt. It’s one of the healthiest live food around with so much live cultures in it. It’ll be good for your guts. The bio-availability of the calcium content in a bowl of homemade yogurt is definitely better compared to all the calcium supplements you take. It’salso one of best skin food around. If you are making the plain one, you can even use it as a face mask.
Ok, i’m not going to talk so much now. Gordon keeps yanking me to the kitchen as he wants another bowl of healthy homemade yogurt. My kids dont have constipation problems. All the acidophillus, bifidus, etc. will make sure they poo everyday. If you are suffering from constipation, then go do yourself a favor and eat some homemade yogurt. Just buy a yogurt maker and a packet of yogurt base back. That’s all you need to stay healthy
