I bought this box of Brand’s Essence Of Chicken For Kids from Jusco Supermarket yesterday. Just like any mother, i also want to boost my kids’ health a bit whenever i can. I’ve been taking brand’s Essence of Chicken since i was very young. I remember each time during school exams, my mom will put one into the rice cooker and let me drink before i go to school. And it’s true that i feel more alert after taking it. It could be a psychological factor, but whatever it is, it worked for me back then.
Now, comes the negative part. If this product is meant for kids, at least make it palatable for them. I opened two bottles when my kids were home from school. Gordon took one sip and backed off. Malcolm took one whiff at it, placed his hand over his mouth and screamed, “NOOOOOOOOOOOO”. Nuff said? True enough. Hubby and i tried it and nearly puked our guts out. It’s really horrible. Although “Fruity flavor” is written on the box, there’s nothing fruity about it AT ALL.
Whatever it is, if my kids doesnt approve of it, i wont ever buy it for them again. This only applies to this Brand’s Essence Of Chicken For Kids that i wont be buying. I’m ok with their Adult range of Chicken Essence though. They’ve been very much a part of my growing up years till now. I will continue to drink it as and when needed.
