I had an hour to kill. Gordon was at the tutor’s as he did not finish his homework yesterday. Malcolm refused to get off the car when we reached home and i took him to Oldtown Kopitiam instead.
He was playing with the menu and saw the Omega Soft-boiled Eggs on their new My Breakfast menu. He pointed at it and told me, “Egg-egg….”. Ok, i get the drift. MIL bought Wantan Meen for me this morning. It’s still in the kitchen. So, only Hot Xi Mut Lai Cha for me. Good also cos Malcolm woke up rather early this morning. A few spoonfuls of the Xi Mut Lai Cha will keep him wide awake at Kindy, lol.
The Oldtown Kopitiam My Breakfast Menu items are only valid from8am – 11am. It was already 11.40am when we got there. But what my kid wants, i’d better order for him.It’s not easy trying to Malcolm to eat. He only had a slice of Gardenia’s Toastem this morning. And here’s a nice picture of the Oldtown Kopitiam Omega Soft-boiled Eggs i ordered for Malcolm.
Add some Soy Sauce and pepper to it, give it a little stir, spoonful by spoonful, my boy guai-guai slurped everything up. Malcolm Good Boy. Mama Love……. muah-muah-muah…..

This is today’s lunch. Something you’ll see everyday in any normal Chinese household. We’re having Steamed Pork with Toong Choi, Stir-fried Baby Bok Choi and Stuffed Tofu with Fish Paste today. MIL cooked all three dishes in less than 30 minutes. Me, i’ll take forever, lol.
The Steamed Pork with Toong Choi is Gordon’s favorite. I will cut up the Stir-fried Baby Bok Choi and Stuffed Tofu up and add it to his rice before he eats it. It’s delicious. Malcolm may not may not eat. He only likes ABC soup. We had that on Saturday. I added some Curly Pasta to it and he loves it.
Let’s see if there’s enough ingredients in the fridge to make him his favorite ABC Soup. He’ll whack everything up without much complaints. He’ll be home soon. Let me go check the fridge out now. Tata!!!

Had this piece of Red Bean Cake at Black Canyon last Saturday. It’s for Malcolm, who loves cakes more than anything else. Gordon came down with fever in the wee hours of the morning. I gave him some water and he went back to sleep. He was still warm when he woke up at 10am. After i sent Malcolm off to school, i quickly went to buy some Panadol For Children for him. I also bought two packets of his favorite Dutch Lady Strawberry Milk. Back home, i took my pill crusher out.
Gordon doesnt like to take medications at all. It’s very difficult to get him to take any form of medications until i found this way. As the Panadol for Children comes in Cherry flavor, it blends very well with his Strawberry Milk. All i need is the pill crusher. Hopefully, Gordon’s temperature will subside soon. Give it 24 hours. If not, i’ll have to take him to a doctor’s for checkup.

I bought this box of Brand’s Essence Of Chicken For Kids from Jusco Supermarket yesterday. Just like any mother, i also want to boost my kids’ health a bit whenever i can. I’ve been taking brand’s Essence of Chicken since i was very young. I remember each time during school exams, my mom will put one into the rice cooker and let me drink before i go to school. And it’s true that i feel more alert after taking it. It could be a psychological factor, but whatever it is, it worked for me back then.
Now, comes the negative part. If this product is meant for kids, at least make it palatable for them. I opened two bottles when my kids were home from school. Gordon took one sip and backed off. Malcolm took one whiff at it, placed his hand over his mouth and screamed, “NOOOOOOOOOOOO”. Nuff said? True enough. Hubby and i tried it and nearly puked our guts out. It’s really horrible. Although “Fruity flavor” is written on the box, there’s nothing fruity about it AT ALL.
Whatever it is, if my kids doesnt approve of it, i wont ever buy it for them again. This only applies to this Brand’s Essence Of Chicken For Kids that i wont be buying. I’m ok with their Adult range of Chicken Essence though. They’ve been very much a part of my growing up years till now. I will continue to drink it as and when needed.
