Ice Fire Polo Bun

This Ice Fire Polo Bun is my toddler’s favorite snack at Oldtown Kopitiam. We always order it for him each time we yum-cha there. There’s another version with chicken ham in it. But i prefer this plain version. I’m lucky as Oldtown Kopitiam is just walking distance from my house. But then, lazybum me still prefer to drive there.

Have you ever wondered where Polo Bun gets its name from? According to a Hongkie friend of mine, Polo means Pineapple to them. I know Polo Bun looks nothing like a Pineapple but my guess is the criss-cross pattern on top of the bun that lends its name to it. Correct me if i’m wrong, ok.

My Hongkie friend is coming back for a visit soon. I’ll take him go yum-cha at Oldtown Kopitiam and see what he has to say about this Polo Bun thingy, lol. Now, i just got an email from my friend telling me that a new drama series will be up next week. It’s A Bride For A Ride, a period drama series.     I just looked it up, you’re right about where the bun got it’s name from. All this time I thought they use pineapple to make the crest lol. I’ve also been watching a lot of the dramas you put up, so thanks for uploading ^_^.
