Banana Leaf Rice at Old Andersonians’ Club, Ipoh

I had lunch at Old Andersonians’ Club this afternoon. It’s my second time there. Was there last Sunday but didnt eat much as i wasnt feeling too well. Old Andersonians’ Club of Ipoh is located right beside Ipoh Anderson’s School. You can see its entrance when you are driving round the roundabout near D.R. Seenivasagam Park.

This is how the facade looks like. Well, it looks just like any old schoolboys’ club lah, what do you expect.

The beautiful thing about eating here is that you dont have to worry about parking space. The compound is huge and there are lots of trees surrounding the place. You wont ever feel the heat after having a meal there.

Oh, this is just a view from the backyard. You can see Anderson’s School clearly from the backyard. A very wonderful school indeed. Both my older brothers are Andersonians; all the way to Form 5. But i wonder why neither of them told me The Old Andersonians’ Club serves one of the best Banana Leaf Rice in town?

I love the various types of vegetable they serve with the Banana Leaf Rice. Today, i got Pickled Cucumber. The one in deep red tasted like Beet to me. Next to it, that’s the Curry Brinjals. And lastly, it’s Cabbage… yummmm.

Today, hubby ordered Curry Fried Tofu. Love it!!!

Gordon loves this Fried Fish as it’s not spicy. It’s actually very crispy on the outside and still has tender flesh on the inside. Very unlike the ones you eat at the hawker stalls, all fried till hard like rocks, lol.

Ahhhh…. Curry Chicken here. All marinated and spiced up with turmeric, ginger, cili boh…. drooools.

Neither hubby nor i got to eat the Papadom. The whole basket got attacked by the kids the moment it touched the table. I was lucky to be able to take this pic :p

Lastly, this Curry Egg is hubby’s must-have. Gordon ate half of it as i was trying to get the right focus. As for drinks, hubby had two glasses of Iced Milk Tea, and i ordered a Mango Lassi. All these for a mere Rm23. And so, this ends the food p0rn session of my lunch of Banana Leaf Rice at Old Andersonians’ Club of Ipoh today. Hope i kept you entertained :)
