Lunch At Koh Samui Restaurant

Today is a special day. It’s my friend, Patricia’s birthday. She happens to be the very first non-neighbor friend that i got to know. We’ve known each other since the age of 6. That’s more than 30 years of friendship. Pat is a special friend to me as i’ve got both her hubby’s and her signature on my marriage certificate.

Koh Samui Restaurant, Ipoh

To celebrate Pat’s birthday, a group of us, Irene, Jasmine, Switz Keng, Prem, Hubby & I, went for lunch at Koh Samui. It’s a Thai Restaurant located along Cowan Street, Ipoh. I dont know what the street name has been changed to. I’ll update this later, ya.

Pineapple Rice

The pic above is the Pineapple Fried Rice that first arrived at our table. Delicious with all the cashew nuts!!!

Thai Green Curry Chicken

Next to arrive is the Thai Green Curry Chicken. All thick and yummy. Not spicy too.

Tom Yum Soup

Tom Yum is a MUST-HAVE item at the table. We’re at a Thai Restaurant, lol. How can no Tom Yum, horrr. It has just the right amount of heat. Just wish i had a second bowl…..

Fried Kangkung with Dip

This is Fried Kangkung. What’s kangkung in English? This is great when eaten with the dip at the left of the pic.

Dip for the Fried Kangkung

A close up of how the dip looks like. It’s kinda like diluted sambal belacan, with lots of shallots and lime in it. MMMmMMmMM good good good….

Mango Salad

As our dear friend, Prem, is on diet, this Mango Salad is the only thing she’s willing to put into her mouth. Oh, she had some of the Fried Kangkung too.

Cakes

Ahhhh…. the cakes. Self-explanatory lah, haimai….

Cakes

More cakes. Prem had the strawberry, LOL!!!!

Pat's Birthday Cake

ALL THE CAKES……

Fried Ice-cream

And this is something we eat just before we left. Take a guess…..

Ice-cream in fried dough

Flip it over, and you’ll see it’s actually FRIED ICE-CREAM!!!! ok, Prem had the ice-cream minus the shell. And this, my dear friends, ends the food p0rn session for the day. Hungry now?

    Hi Samm,

All those food look soooo good. I like coming to your website to look at all the nice food from Asia and to watch the TVB movies. I was away for a while and realized that your videos are gone. Did they crack down on you too? Thanks for providing entertainment for me for so long. I’ll still continue coming to your site for the food. :P

I sent you an email. Please check.

Can’t wait to try the delicious Thai dishes again next week during my rare trip back to IPoh :)
Pandan chicken is one their signature dishes. The mango salad is making me salavating!
