How To Bake Cake – Step By Step Chart

Now, this is hilarious. Gordon had to pee when i went to pick him up from Kindy yesterday. So, i told to hurry up and go to the toilet. Whilst i was waiting for him, i saw this on the wall. It’s a Step-step chart on how to bake a cake.

What i like about the chart is its simplicity. Does it looks easy to anyone who’ve not baked a cake before in her entire life. With help from modern kitchen appliances like a basic cake mixer and a small toaster oven, we can easily bake cakes, cookies and muffins.

Well, the chart doesnt have any measurements for the ingredients. It’s just to illustrate to the students how to bake a cake. Well, i hope Gordon would come home one day and tell me he wants to bake a cake for me, lol. I still have a box of butter cake pre-mix stashed inside the kitchen cabinet…..

My first attempt at baking

I know this post is long overdue. But i was too busy those last few days. I cant remember with what already cos i have short term memory loss, lol. Anyway, here’s my first attempt at baking with the Ina Paarman’s Kitchen cake mix i bought the other day. Here’s the reason why i wanna go bake a cake.

Ingredients all laid out nicely eh. Why the kitchen scale when i have nothing to weigh, right. I wanted to bake half of the contents initially but dumped everything in at the very last minute, lol. And if you’re not accustomed to the taste and smell of olive oil, you SHOULD NOT bake with it. Try safflower or sunflower oil instead. Believe you me.

And oh yes, i was on MSN with Lilian just in case i screw up somewhere, LOLZ. What a nice setup, hoh.

Here’s the eggs and olive oil getting whisked on high.

I wasnt able to find my measuring cup. So, Gordon’s sippy cup came to the rescue. Same thing what, right.

The box of contents getting mixed on low, what else.

I placed half the contents into muffin cups and baked them first. Took 30 minutes at 180 deg i think.

Can you see the white colored sieve right next to the Philips Cucina Mixer? You can attach this to the side of the mixer stand and add flour to it and it’ll do the job for you. No need to buy that battery operated jug now. Convenient hoh.

And here’s the remaining batter in a loaf dish.

Loaf dish inside the oven now.

Here’s how the cupcakes turned out to be. I have to make sure it wont run over next time. Less batter inside the cups!!!

Still yummy though.

As for the cake, it rose to the top of the oven as there’s too much batter in the dish. Less than half when i bake with it again next time.

I just peeled off the burnt top and it taste just as good. MIL, hubby and Gordon all ate and liked it. Me, i only like the baking process. So, now you can see what fun i can have by myself inside the kitchen for two whole hours, lol. Now, what shall i bake next….
