This is the banana yogurt i made last night. What a lovely color. I just placed the whole tub into the fridge. Hope to chill it before giving some to Malcolm. He wont be going to school today.
I’ll make sure he eats some yogurt every now and then. Hope he likes the banana yogurt i made specially for him. Gordon also likes yogurt and of cos, he can share some of it.
You can read an old post here on how to make homemade yogurt using a yogurt maker. It’s not difficult and only takes about ten minutes. Really really easy and beneficial to your health.
If you dont have a yogurt maker, then check these out. Every household will benefit from any of these yogurt makers. Some can even be used to make sorbet and ice-creams too.

Bought a box of strawberries and three avocados from Tesco yesterday. It’s been quite a long time since i last ate avocados. I used to eat lots of them when i was still living in KL. It’s actually hubby who started buying them back one day and somehow, it got me back into eating this wonderful fruit again.

Fruits have lots of antioxidants to neutralize all the free radicals in our body. Free radicals are baddies that contribute to aging. So, if you want to stay healthy and age slowly, do try your best to eat lots of fruits each day.

I read a study published in the Archives of Ophthalmology indicates that eating 3 or more servings of fruit per day may lower your risk of age-related macular degeneration (ARMD), the primary cause of vision loss in older adults, by 36%, compared to persons who consume less than 1.5 servings of fruit daily.

What are the benefits of avocado? Avocado has been used traditionally to help people with sexual problems. It’s also a great antioxidant and can be used to treat skin disorders. If you are suffering from digestive and circulatory problems, avocado may help heal these disorders too. You can also apply avocado paste to rashes and rough skin to make it smoother.

Took this just before it ends up in my mouth…. mmmMmmmm mmMmMMMMmmM mMmMMmM. Oh, dont just stare at my beautiful pics. My Nokia N82 really sibeh geng chau, haimai. Go pick up some strawberries and avocados on your next trip to the supermarket. Do you lots of good.

Just made myself a large glass of this Ayurvedic medicine called Pankaja Kasthuri. Bought it from an Indian Supermarket at Ipoh Oldtown. The lady at the supermarket told me this Pankaja Kasthuri drink is traditionally used to reduce phlegm and symptomatic relief of cough.
I’ve been coughing for weeks and making sleep almost impossible at night. It’s good and it works. It tastes just like those traditional Chinese medicine Pak Fung Wan balls. But this has a sweet taste plus the ginger in it really helps keep the coughing at bay. If you are coughing like mad, do try this Pankaja Kasthuri Ayurvedic cough remedy, ok.

This Kam Heong Pumpkin is one of Malcolm’s favorite vegetable dish. My FIL must have this dish every once in a while as it’s beneficial to his health. Now, let’s explore some of the health benefits related to Pumpkins. I know its meat has high carotenoids contents. Pumpkins get their orange color from these carotenoids, which are really good at neutralizing free radicals. Free radicals are nasty molecules that attack cell membranes and leave the cells vulnerable to damage.
Pumpkins also contain high levels of lutein and zeaxanthin, which help to scavenge free radicals in the lens of the eye. Foods high in luteins and zeaxanthin may help prevent the formation of cataracts and reduce the risk of macular degeneration. Cataract is a serious eye problem that can lead to blindness.
Pumpkins also contains lots of other common nutrients like iron, zinc, and fiber. Iron is a vital mineral to form red blood cells. If you are deficient in Zinc, it may lead to problems like osteoporosis of the hip and spine in older men. And of course, fiber is important for bowel health. Good for constipation sufferers.
The dish here is cooked by my MIL. She only used a medium sized pumpkin. As for the ingredients needed to stir-fry this dish, she used dried prawns, chopped garlic and shallots, curry leaves and some lemongrass (serai). Cut the pumpkin into flat bite-sized pieces around 1 inch or so. Stir-fry the main ingredients in oil until fragrant.
Then, add the pumpkin to the mix and stir-fry it well. Add some water to it and cover the wok. Leave to simmer for a few minutes. You may also add some red chillies to it and stir-fry it lightly one more time if you like. We ran out of red chillies today. Great when eaten with plain white rice. Malcolm only wants to eat this on its own, no rice, lol. Try it, ok.
