Jell-O No Bake Real Cheesecake Dessert

DSC05074

I bought this from Cold Storage. Got suckered in by two word. Cheese and No Bake. I used to make no bake cheesecake with Philedelphia Cheeses. But i’ll have to buy a few separate ingredients for that and i feel this may be easier. Or maybe taste like it? Dont know. I’ll update you on this when i try this out.

Pillsbury Thick ‘n Fudgy Deluxe Brownie Mix

Bought this from Cold Storage the other day. Gonna bake this tomorrow. One egg and oil is all i’ll need to add to the mix. It’s not the first time i’ve tried Pillsbury products. I’ve baked with their cake mixes before and they taste good. They are actually not that bad. Anyone here tried this before?

I have almonds in the fridge too. This already comes with walnuts but of cos i can always roast some almonds to add to it for more flavor and bite. I have one 8 x 8 inch Pyrex dish which will be just right for this. I think this will last the kids and i for days, lol.

If it turns out well, i will stock up a few more boxes and can bake whenever i want to. There is another with chocolate chunks in it. Yes, hoh. Why didnt i think of it. I can always dump in a handful of M & M’s to it mah. Gordon is sure going to like digging those colorful chocs out one by one, lol.

Organic soya milk with almonds

Organic Soybeans and Almonds

Hubby wanted his soya milk with almonds this time. So, the usual cup of black and yellow soya beans topped with a handful or almonds. Organic, of cos. Gee…. i just love this pic. Do you? I feel like popping the almonds into my mouth now, lol.

Soaking Organic Soybeans and almonds

Soak for 10 hours. The skin of almonds are not that easy to remove by hand unlike soya beans.. You wont complain if you are removing only a small handful. But when you are removing a cup, try blanching it in hot water for a minute and they’ll come off easily. And it’ll be ready to go into the soya bean milk maker. You have to try this if you love homemade soya milk. It adds a wonderful aroma and flavor to the otherwise bland taste of soya milk.

Ina Paarman’s Kitchen Vanilla Cake

I bought this at Cold Storage as i wanted to test my Philips Toaster Oven’s baking function out. I saw a few brands but opted for Ina Paarman’s Kitchen instead. This is the first time i’m buying this. The packaging looks impressive. I opted for vanilla as hubby dont quite like the kids to take chocolate too much. Oh bother, what difference does it make, ya. Anyway, it’s for trial so i can also see better with a fair cake. Just hope it turns out well.

I’ve got the automatic soya bean milk maker, i’ve got the ingredients ready. Just got to soak around 125gm - 150gm in water for a minimum of 10 hours and it’ll be ready for my very first batch of soya milk. There’s a lot of work to be done after the soaking process. And that’s the skin removal process. I have this habit of removing the skin as i dont like the beany taste and this helps in eliminating it. The skins also contain some of the bitter flavors and also some inhibiting enzymes. Therefore by removing the skins, it can positively affect the taste. At the same time some “gas forming” or “digestion inhibiting” compounds may be reduced or eliminated. As for the almonds, it adds more ooomph and nutritional value to the soya milk as it’s very high in calcium.
