Mee Suah From Tesco

Mee Suah

My kids love noodles. Most of the time, i will buy instant noodles like Maggi Mee, Mamee or Cintan and cook that for them. And just in case you are wondering, i dont use the packet of MSG seasoning that comes with those instant noodles, k. Hubby will kill me.

I went to Tesco the other day and came across this packet of noodles. I cant read Chinese but it looks like Mee Suah to me. As i only use the noodles, i dont see a point in buying instant noodles as they cost more. And so, i gave this packet of Mee Suah a try. Hope my kids like it.

One more thing, my friend just sent me this latest Restaurant City Item Cheat. Those playing Playfish Restaurant City must be on the lookout for the latest Restaurant City Cheats, right. Go give it a try then. I’m not playing Restaurant City, so dont ask me how it works. Like i said earlier, i cant read Chinese. Good luck.

Early Morning Breakfast Of Kai Si Hor Fun

Hubby invited me out for breakfast with him this morning. After deliberating with him over what to eat, we adjourned to Restoran Jen Jen, the first corner coffeeshop situated right behind Tow Boo Keong Hall. There’s a stall there that sells one of the best Kai Si Hor Fun in Ipoh.

Restoran Jen Jen - Pasir Pinji

Here’s the coffeeshop i mentioned. I’ve not been here for a long long time. When Gordon was younger, i used to take him here for breakfast, but after the arrival of Malcolm, everything ceased, lol. It’s only about 7am when we arrived and there’s plenty of parking space for us. Otherwise, you’ll have to go round and round the place.

Kai Si Hor Fun Stall

This is the Kai Si Hor Fun stall. You cant see it from the first pic. It’s on the left side from the pic’s orientation. This pic here was taken from the inside of the coffeeshop. The Kai Si Hor Fun stall is managed by a couple. Many people say the soup here is far too sweet. Some complain it’s not salty enough, lol. Whatever it is, it’s fine by me. Reminds me of the new TVB drama series, Sweetness In The Salt. Starts tonight. (ARCHIVED)

Kai Si Hor Fun

And here’s my order. A bowl of yummy Hor Fun with drumstick, prawns and chicken liver. Love it with the cilipadi. The soup here tastes somewhat like Oldtown’s Kong Heng Kai Si Hor Fun. Definitely better and more satisfying than this lousy Cowan Street Ngah Choi Kai.

Thai Green Curry Noodles at Black Canyon Coffee

This is hubby’s favorite dish at Black Canyon Coffee. We go to Jaya Jusco very often. To him, the Thai Green Curry Noodles he had at Black Canyon Coffee last Sunday was not the same as the usual ones. Says it’s kinda “thin” as in diluted, you get what i mean. How come? He’s a regular there and orders this dish very often. So, he can definitely detect any changes to the recipe.

I had their Tom Yam with Fusili and Chicken the other day. It tastes fine to me. Well, i seldom eat this Thai Green Curry Noodles so, it’s “no comments” from me. Does anyone find the Thai Green Curry at Black Canyon Coffee different lately? If anyone from the Black Canyon Coffee management reading this, i guess you’d better go check on your Thai Green Curry recipe.

Oldtown Kopitiam Nissin Noodles

Nissin Noodles is just another name for instant noodles. It’s actually the brand of the noodle. You can buy Nissin Noodles from just about any departmental store. But frankly speaking, as far as instant noodles are concerned, i prefer our local varieties as they are almost the same thing albeit a different pricetag. Imported stuffs are expensive, you know. Almost triple the price of our local brands.

I was cooking noodles for my kid when my phone rang. Went to pick it up and forgot all about the instant noodle in the pot. By the time i remembered, it’s already way overdone and looked more like a gooey mass than a bowl of noodles, lol. Hubby suggested we take him for lunch at Oldtown Kopitiam before sending him to school. Not that i have much choice anyway.

I ordered him Nissin Noodles since he was anticipating something like this for lunch back home. Of course, homecooked version wont have MSG in it. He loves eggs with everything and Nissin Noodles comes with an egg, a few miserable vegetables and some chicken ham. He only eats the Nissin Noodles and egg. The rest, i gaotim. What an expensive lunch….. sigh….. Are you going to watch Moonlight Resonance for free? It’s gonna air soon. You can get all the Moonlight Resonance streaming and download links here.

Restoran Fai Kee Ipoh – Best Place For Seafood Noodles

It’s a fact that Ipoh has a lot of great places to satisfy your gastronomic experience and demands. Apart from great food, the people here are an overall friendly lot, unlike most major big cities, where all you see are sombre faces day in day out. And yes, Ipoh is famous for their pretty lasses too, yeah!!! Most likely thanks to the good water quality here.

Talking of Ipoh food, i’d like to share with you one of my favorite lunch hour hangout. It’s a nice restaurant serving the best seafood noodles in town. Restoran Fai Kee Ipoh is situated along Jalan Seenivasagam, in Greenhill. Oh yes, it’s No 28, you wont miss it, k. It’s right across the road from the OSK building. I suggest you go early or after 2pm to avoid the lunch crowd. Looking for a parking space there can be a bitch in the hot afternoon.

Restoran Fai Kee Ipoh - Exterior

You’ll be greeted with a loud “WELCOME” and warm friendly smiles the moment you enter the shop’s premise. If you’ve not been here before, you may be thinking, “Damn, its such a hot afternoon. I’ll be sweating like a horse if i were to eat a bowl of hot seafood noodles”. Surprisingly, the restaurant is airy and well ventilated with lots of industrial fan, lol. Not air-conditioned though. If it is, you wont be able to enjoy such good seafood noodles at affordable prices, k.

Restoran Fai Kee Ipoh - Interior

I suggest you order a glass of cold drink to beat the hot weather. It’ll cool you down after a bowl of hot seafood noodles. Though the place mis packed, food is served pretty fast here. Do request for the cilipadi if you dont see it on your table. The waiter/waitress will bring it to you. Being Malaysian, who eats noodles without cilipadi, hoh. As you wait for your food to arrive, entertain yourself with an informercial of Restoran Fai Kee Ipoh on the TV.

Restoran Fai Kee Ipoh - Fish Head Noodles

My favorite dish here is Fish Head Bihun with Milk. Any dish with milk is best eaten here. Dont tapau it with milk. If you must, go add your own evaporated milk into the noodles back home. If not, the milk will most likely end up curdled by the time you reach home. You can also substitute the Fried Fish Head pieces with Fried Dory Fish pieces. Cost a bit more, but minus the bones. Aitelyu, one bowl is never enough for me……

Restoran Fai Kee Ipoh - Drunken Prawns Noodles

Well, if i want a second helping, i’ll most probably order their Drunken Prawns Noodles. There’s also Drunken Chicken Noodles if you prefer poultry to seafood, k. They are both just as scrumptious. The combination of fried ginger with the parsley and spring onions make the soup oh-so-delicious. And yes, i drink every drop of it each time. How not to…… so delicious worrrrr. Not i can cook something like this back home. But why bother when i can have different varieties here at the shop, lol.

Restoran Fai Kee Ipoh - Seafood Noodles Recipe

For those of you who loves to cook, you can very well have their famous Seafood Noodles Recipe and Fish head Noodle Recipe. They have it all framed up on the wall. Those of you who’ve not tried Ipoh’s famous seafood noodles before, then take down the address of Restoran Fai Kee Ipoh and drive there for lunch tomorrow. And yes, you’ll also hear their loud “THANK YOU, PLEASE COME AGAIN” as you leave the shop.
