Malcolm’s Banana Yogurt Is Ready

This is the banana yogurt i made last night. What a lovely color. I just placed the whole tub into the fridge. Hope to chill it before giving some to Malcolm. He wont be going to school today.

I’ll make sure he eats some yogurt every now and then. Hope he likes the banana yogurt i made specially for him. Gordon also likes yogurt and of cos, he can share some of it.

You can read an old post here on how to make homemade yogurt using a yogurt maker. It’s not difficult and only takes about ten minutes. Really really easy and beneficial to your health.

If you dont have a yogurt maker, then check these out. Every household will benefit from any of these yogurt makers. Some can even be used to make sorbet and ice-creams too.

Alce Nero organic spinach spaghetti with minced pork

It’s a wonderful Saturday. After sandwiches, i remembered the packet of Alce Nero organic spinach spaghetti i bought the other day. Gordon was standing at the kitchen entrance and i took the packet of spaghetti out of the fridge and asked him if he wanted “Meen-meen” (noodles in Cantonese) or not. He smiled; that’s a yes.

Marinating minced pork

As i was closing the fridge door, i saw a packet of minced pork on the top shelf. I seldom cook meat anyway, but what the heck. Just in the mood to make something different this time. And pray to God at the same time Gordon wont give me that look and say “Mm-moii”; meaning “Dont want” in Cantonese, lol.

Really nothing fancy here. Ingredients used for the minced pork is Lea &Perrins Worchestershire sauce, Kikkoman Soysauce, sugar and pepper. My MIL doesnt really like Lea & Perrins Worchestershire sauce, but i love it. Do you? I let it marinade for a short while whilst waiting for the spaghetti to boil. Takes 15 minutes anyway.

Fried Minced Pork

Then, fried the marinated minced pork with just a teeny bit of organic olive oil using my Maxim 12cm egg frying pan till fragrant. Wonderful wonderful smell, mmmmmmm.

Bowl of organic spinach spaghetti

As for the pasta sauce, i’m still using Prego Pasta Sauce, my all-time favorite. There’s not much Prego sauce left anyway. Will buy some Alce Nero organic pasta sauce later on.  And here’s the bowl of Alce Nero organic spinach spaghetti with minced pork. Lovely color, wonderful texture, excellent taste. Verdict? Gone in under 10 minute, lol. Try it.

Alce Nero organic spinach spaghetti

Whenever possible, i always opt for organic products. Came across this Alce Nero organic spinach spaghetti the other day and decided to give it a try.

Alce Nero organic spinach spaghetti

Got to know that Alce Nero is one of the largest organic producers in Italy. Just hope my kids take to the color of this Alce Nero organic spinach spaghetti, lol.

Alce Nero organic spinach spaghetti

Here’s a closer look of the Alce Nero organic spinach spaghetti. The green looks more like olive to me. And no, it doesnt smell like olive, k. It’s pretty normal. The taste? I’ll let you know once i’ve cooked it. Weekend maybe.

Organic somen in Japanese miso soup

I cooked Organic chasoba in Japanese miso soup a few days back. I still have a few packets of Japanese miso soup base left. I havent got a chance to cook the organic somen. So, i made some for lunch.

Organic somen 1

All the steps are the same. And here, you can see the cooked Organic somen being chilled in a bowl of filtered cold water. It’s an important step. You know, cooked noodles have that slimy feel to it. The organic somen has a wonderful texture. It’s smooth and has a perfect bite to it.

And this is the Organic somen in Japanese miso soup which i cooked for lunch yesterday. I added two crabsticks to it as i was really hungry. Oishi desu ne….

Organic chasoba in Japanese miso soup

What’s there to cook on a glorious Sunday afternoon. Ok, so there’s Japanese miso soup also the Organic Somen and Organic Chasoba which i bought earlier. I asked hubby which would he prefer and he said he wanted the organic chasoba. So, chasoba it is.

Organic Chasoba

The Organic chasoba has a lovely green tinge and smells great.

Organic Chasoba in hot water

Here’s the organic chasoba boiling in the pot. There are altogether three rows of organic chasoba inside the packaging and i cooked two of it. Enough for both hubby and i and also for both my kids too.

Miso packets

And here’s the packet of instant Japanese miso soup.

Miso packets 1

And here are the contents. There are four sets of miso soup inside. Took two out.

Miso seasoning

The slim packet contains the miso, and the squarish packet are the seaweed, spring onions and what-are-those-yellow-bits?? Dried tofu pieces? I love the smell of the miso….. mmmm.

Miso soup

Just add some hot water to it and give it a light stir. Dont put too much water or the miso soup will become bland and you’ll need to add soy sauce to it later on.

Cooked organic chasoba

Here’s the cooked organic chasoba. Dumped them into the rice cooker’s steamer rack which happens to be nearby. Fits perfectly over the pot, lol. Ran cold filtered tap water over the organic chasoba to stop the cooking process and also to cool it. Or else, it’ll be too soft and lose it’s bite.

Organic chasoba in miso soup

Separated them into their respective bowls and it’s a lovely weekend meal for my family of four. Simple isnt it. No skills needed.

Ahhhh…. up close and personal shot of the best bowl of Organic chasoba in Japanese miso soup that Samm cooked….. sluuuurrrrrppp. OISHIIIIIIII ne
