San Remo happens to be one of my favorite brand of pasta. My whole family loves to eat pasta. It’s simple and quick to prepare. I found that it’s difficult for kids to eat spaghetti without cutting them up. That’s why i buy them this packet of colorful San Remo Vegeroni Spirals. My elder kid have no problem eating this. But i have to cut each piece into two for my two year old boy.

Do you like to eat Spirals? I find that they pick up the pasta sauce better. They also go well with soups. I havent tried frying them with minced meat and vegetables before. Hubby told me to make some one day. Care to share some of your recipes made with this San Remo Vegeroni Spirals?

It’s a wonderful Saturday. After sandwiches, i remembered the packet of Alce Nero organic spinach spaghetti i bought the other day. Gordon was standing at the kitchen entrance and i took the packet of spaghetti out of the fridge and asked him if he wanted “Meen-meen” (noodles in Cantonese) or not. He smiled; that’s a yes.

As i was closing the fridge door, i saw a packet of minced pork on the top shelf. I seldom cook meat anyway, but what the heck. Just in the mood to make something different this time. And pray to God at the same time Gordon wont give me that look and say “Mm-moii”; meaning “Dont want” in Cantonese, lol.
Really nothing fancy here. Ingredients used for the minced pork is Lea &Perrins Worchestershire sauce, Kikkoman Soysauce, sugar and pepper. My MIL doesnt really like Lea & Perrins Worchestershire sauce, but i love it. Do you? I let it marinade for a short while whilst waiting for the spaghetti to boil. Takes 15 minutes anyway.

Then, fried the marinated minced pork with just a teeny bit of organic olive oil using my Maxim 12cm egg frying pan till fragrant. Wonderful wonderful smell, mmmmmmm.

As for the pasta sauce, i’m still using Prego Pasta Sauce, my all-time favorite. There’s not much Prego sauce left anyway. Will buy some Alce Nero organic pasta sauce later on. And here’s the bowl of Alce Nero organic spinach spaghetti with minced pork. Lovely color, wonderful texture, excellent taste. Verdict? Gone in under 10 minute, lol. Try it.

Whenever possible, i always opt for organic products. Came across this Alce Nero organic spinach spaghetti the other day and decided to give it a try.

Got to know that Alce Nero is one of the largest organic producers in Italy. Just hope my kids take to the color of this Alce Nero organic spinach spaghetti, lol.

Here’s a closer look of the Alce Nero organic spinach spaghetti. The green looks more like olive to me. And no, it doesnt smell like olive, k. It’s pretty normal. The taste? I’ll let you know once i’ve cooked it. Weekend maybe.

I stock a lot of pasta and pasta sauce at home. I’m not too particular over which type of pasta i buy. I’ve tried spirals, ribbons, shells, penne, everything, lol. As for pasta sauce, i have a preference for Prego, especially their Roasted Garlic Parmesan. I always forget to buy Parmesan cheese. And even if i do, chances are i forget to finish it before the expiry date.

And here’s a plate of spaghetti which i made this afternoon. Too lazy to go out as the sky’s all dark and i dont want to get caught in the rain with two kids in tow. They can be a real handful if we were to be stuck at a restaurant, unable to leave for home.

Bought this bottle of Laleli Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Jaya Jusco. Dribble lots of it over the spaghetti with Prego pasta sauce and yummmmm. I drink from it straight from the bottle at times. This is NOT for cooking. I have another bottle which can be used for both cooking and as a dressing. And if you have constipation, a tablespoon of this three times a day will help ease your sufferings, lol. Believe you me, it works. And the same goes for Virgin Coconut Oil.

Lovely, isnt it. I made a few plates of these spaghetti with Prego pasta sauce for my hubby and kids. Too bad i’m out of McCormick’s parsley . If not, i’ll sprinkle some over the plate of spaghetti.

Mmmmm…… have a bite. Happy weekend, all
