I went home straight after i dropped my kid off school this noon. I gotta cook him some food for recess at 3.00pm. I didnt get to cook earlier this morning as the main water pipe burst leaving the neighborhood without water supply for the better half of the day. Moreover, my MIL wasnt feeling too well lately. So, it’s better that i cook. I may not be the best cook around, but with her guidance, i can still conjure up something for everyone.
My FIL has lost almost all his front teeth. Therefore, i have to make sure that the food i prepare is suitable for him. Dishes like fish and tofu has been a staple in our household for as long as i can remember. In a way, i’m also glad that seafood is aplenty in my house as my FIL is a seafood wholesaler. Another thing is, my MIL buys all the vegetables and meat from the wet market. With food in abundance at house, there’s no reason for me not to cook, right.
Today, i fried two black pomfrets, and also dished up stir-fried tofu with minced pork. Vegetables is steamed lady’s fingers seasoned with garlic oil and oyster sauce. I love ladyfingers as it’s a good source of natural glucosamine, which is very beneficial to our joints. My MIL buys a lot of lady’s fingers each week. A good neighbor also plants lots of organic lady’s fingers outside my house, lol. So, there’s no shortage of lady’s fingers for the family’s consumption.
Well, you dont really need to eat lots of lady’s fingers in order to obtain glucosamine in your diet. There are lots of good glucosamine supplements for sale online. Malcolm wasnt feeling well for the past two days. His nose was blocked at night and he had a hard time sleeping through the night. Same goes to the mother larr. He lost his appetite too. For a 3.5 year old, he looks more like a 2.5 year old, lol. Abuthen, i can also see that he’s getting taller by the day….. phew.
Last Saturday, he managed to con me of another two more new toy cars. He found Lightning McQueen and another blue car-car when he combed Tesco’s toys department. Here’s Malcolm, giving his Lightning McQueen a sip of his favorite ABC Soup. How generous, eh.

This is my super cute kid showing off his cherry to the girl next to our table when we took the kids out to Kopitiam Junction this noon. He asked for cake and dragged me off to the cake shop. If i dont buy him one, he’ll tear the place down. I soon found out why as there’s a small cake with a car on top of it at the cake shop, knn. I reminded him i just bought him two new car-cars yesterday.
Still reluctant to leave, he chose a blueberry chocolate cake with a cherry on top of a dollop of fresh cream. I bluffed him and said that’s ice-cream, lol! He should be happy as he got to eat cake with cherry and ice-cream all at once. Sigh…. the cost of bringing up kids is really high. *makes mental note to self to remember to load my printer with new ink and print more money*

My 3.5 year old kid is getting cheekier by the day. He went to the kitchen this afternoon when i was busy with my blogs. His brother followed suit and i can hear the both of them were giggling away from my room. I went to investigate and this is what i saw. See…. my naughty boy was dipping his finger into the condensed milk jar and licking the sweet "nana" off. I’m in the process of weaning him off now and he went to get his dose of "nana" from the fridge, lol. I’m speechless. And no, i didnt punish him la. I’ve done this myself when i was a kid too. What about you?

Oh, this is the Char Kuey Tiau i ordered from the stall with the words Mee Kari Pangkor on it. Must be stall number 42. It’s between the two stalls selling drinks. Their Curry Noodles is quite good too. Hubby likes it very much. My Char Kuey Tiau is also not too bad. Will eat it again when my CKT cravings strike, lol.
