I wonder since when Oldtown Kopitiam removed the chicken from this dish. My friend ordered it the other day. The curry is actually very nice and goes well with the bread. I used to leave the chicken behind when i order this dish last time. What a waste, huh. I find that it’s far too filling for me. There’s a lot of coconut milk in the curry. So, much as i enjoy the curry, i dare not eat too much.
Coconut milk is very bad for our health as it clogs up our arteries. So, do eat less food cooked with coconut milk, ya. If you love to cook and eat curry, you may want to substitute the coconut milk with plain natural yogurt. Your curry will still have a great texture and tastes just as good. So, remember to try using yogurt in your next curry recipe, ok.

I bought a packet of Tempura Chicken Nuggets last week and as usual, totally forgotten about it. I hardly ever open the freezer to check what’s inside wat. Anyways, i saw it when my toddler wanted to eat “sushi” and i went to get him some. By that, he meant the red colored crab sticks my MIL buys occasionally. He must have spotted it when MIL/FIL opened it one day.
I never liked frying these Tempura Chicken Nuggets as i need to defrost them first. Troublesome tousei. My favorite way of preparing these nuggets is by popping them into my Philips Toaster Oven. It’s not the most economical way of preparing them, but sure beats the heat and the oil if i were to fry them.
These Tempura Chicken Nuggets is the kind of convenient snacks i buy like once a year, or maybe less. They are actually very easy to make and almost every kid loves to eat chicken nuggets. I just told hubby that i want to brush up my hopeless culinary skills, lol. Really time to dig out my recipe books leh. Had better stop buying and start experimenting for a change.

This Ice Fire Polo Bun is my toddler’s favorite snack at Oldtown Kopitiam. We always order it for him each time we yum-cha there. There’s another version with chicken ham in it. But i prefer this plain version. I’m lucky as Oldtown Kopitiam is just walking distance from my house. But then, lazybum me still prefer to drive there.
Have you ever wondered where Polo Bun gets its name from? According to a Hongkie friend of mine, Polo means Pineapple to them. I know Polo Bun looks nothing like a Pineapple but my guess is the criss-cross pattern on top of the bun that lends its name to it. Correct me if i’m wrong, ok.
My Hongkie friend is coming back for a visit soon. I’ll take him go yum-cha at Oldtown Kopitiam and see what he has to say about this Polo Bun thingy, lol. Now, i just got an email from my friend telling me that a new drama series will be up next week. It’s A Bride For A Ride, a period drama series. Have you ever tried the ice-creams at Oldtown Kopitiam? There are three varieties there. We took the kids there for tea the other day and ordered one for them as the weather is freaking hot. The one you see here has strawberries. The other two has blueberries and coffee powder. And here’s Malcolm waiting patiently for his turn as Gordon tried to scoop a strawberry out.
And these are the rest of the food we had that day.The Homemade Sticky Rice is really good, you know. Give it a try when you eat there next time. As for drinks, I only like their Xi Mut Lai Cha. I prefer it hot, without sugar. Hubby likes it cold.What about you? Do you like the White Coffee served there? To be honest with it, i’ve not tried it before, lol.

I’m suddenly yearning for some French Fries, lol. Dont ask me why, ok. I just want to eat French Fries all of a sudden. And NO, i’m not pregnant :p. Too bad McD closed the outlet near my house. If not, i’ll drive there and buy some right now.
