Remember i once posted a pic about some organic white brinjals that my neighbor planted outside our house? She gave us more after she harvested some last weekend. MIL steamed the previous batch of white brinjals. This time, my neighbor told my MIL to boil them instead. She was so right. They were more tender and errrr…. smoother. All that’s needed for flavor is a dash of soy sauce and some garlic oil. Ahhhh…. so healthy. Organic worrrrr……

The weather is freaking hot these few days. It’s more than 36 degrees, man, wtf. Aitelyu, this kind of heat is really giving me a bad mood everyday. Worse than PMS. After sending my kid to school, hubby and i, together with my good friend Efe, went to cool down at Coffee Bean. I ordered this Caesar Salad as i just wanted to stuff my face with something non-filling.
CNY is less than two weeks away and i’m am not in the mood to celebrate at all. Too tired to do anything since the start of the new school term. My heart is out of sync with my body. Timing out-out-deii. Feeling lethargic all the time. What about you? Started your CNY cookie baking frenzy yet?
MIL asked me to come up with the CNY Reunion Dinner Menu worr. Cook what la. I’ll most probably ask my sis for some Chinese New Year dishes and recipes. She has plenty. Cook for me better, lol! I’d love to eat, sleep and do absolutely nothing this Chinese New Year :p

Yam Basket is a common dish served at Chinese Restaurants. But have you ever tried Kerabu Yam Basket before? I used to eat Yam Basket with lots of nuts and meat in it, but this is truly different. Yam can be quite filling and those with a weak digestive system stays off yam like it’s the plague. I used to get stricken with gastritis problems and yam is a no-no to me for as long as i can remember. I seldom get gastritis problems nowadays, maybe the occasional acid reflux when i consume too much alcohol. But i do eat yam if it’s really worth the risk, lol!
This Kerabu Yam Basket is another specialty of Restaurant 1919. The tangy vegetables inside the yam basket acts as digestive enzymes, and makes this dish lighter and more refreshing. I dont think i’ll order this if i’m having a meal there with my family. But if i’m eating there with my friends, i’ll definitely order this Kerabu Yam Basket for them. If you ever go to Restaurant 1919, give this dish a try, ya. More to come later

Cucumbers are great for hot days. They are cooling and goes well with my rice. Today, we’re having Stir-fried Cucumbers with Prawns, Chillies and Spring Onions. It’s so tasty and refreshing. What are you having for lunch today?

MIL cooked stir-fried flat beans with prawns for dinner tonight. Other than this, there’s omelette and also fishballs for my kids. Simple dishes that everyone in the family likes. I gave Malcolm a few fishballs just now and he asked for more; PASS. Gordon will not say no to the omelet either; PASS. Me, as long as i dont have to cook; ALL PASS!!!! LOLZ!!!!
