These few days, my neighbor saw rats scurrying around her kitchen. Dont be alarmed. This is very common where we live. There is nothing much that we can do to prevent rats from entering the house since there are so many places that they can do so from. The only reason they are here is to look for food. What i can do to prevent the rats from coming back is to make sure that there are no food inside the kitchen for them.
My MIL bought some containers to keep all her onions and garlic. She used to keep all her potatoes on a rack until the rats ate some of it. No, rats dont like potatoes, but they will bite into anything to see if it’s edible or not. Onions, garlic and ginger are not spared, believe you me. Our neighbor made a homemade glue rat trap once and says it’s very effective and never fails to catch all the rats in her house.
Geee… i’m familiar with homemade glue rat traps. So, how to get rid of rats in the kitchen? If hubby sees rats around the house, he will buy rat glue from the hardware shop, paste them onto boards and place them around the kitchen. Sometimes, we can catch up to three rats on a single board. I hate the smell of those homemade glue rat traps. They stink, ewwwww. But those glue rat traps work like a charm.
We no longer make our own rat glue traps nowadays. We buy glue rat traps to catch rats around the house. There are quite a few brands available and take this Catchmaster glue rat trap for example. It can even catch snakes!!! If you have rats around the house and you want to catch them, you go give the Catchmaster glue rat trap a try. Dont let those rats run about your kitchen destroying all your food. Good luck.

This is hubby’s favorite dish at Black Canyon Coffee. We go to Jaya Jusco very often. To him, the Thai Green Curry Noodles he had at Black Canyon Coffee last Sunday was not the same as the usual ones. Says it’s kinda “thin” as in diluted, you get what i mean. How come? He’s a regular there and orders this dish very often. So, he can definitely detect any changes to the recipe.
I had their Tom Yam with Fusili and Chicken the other day. It tastes fine to me. Well, i seldom eat this Thai Green Curry Noodles so, it’s “no comments” from me. Does anyone find the Thai Green Curry at Black Canyon Coffee different lately? If anyone from the Black Canyon Coffee management reading this, i guess you’d better go check on your Thai Green Curry recipe.

Ok, this is tonight’s dinner. Really nothing fancy. Only fried fish and stir-fried baby bokchoi with garlic. Oh, there’s tomato, potato, onions and carrot soup in the pot. Forgot to snap a pic of it to place with the dishes, lol. But that’s not important, right. I’d better hurry up and feed my kids first. I wanna watch The Gem Of Life Ep 22 streaming later on.
We’re only a quarter into The Gem Of Life so far. 60 episodes to last us right up till February 2009. Good, huh. No need to hunt for new TVB Drama series to watch. What are you watching now? Are you watching The Gem Of Life too? How about When Easterly Showers Fall On The Sunny West? Episode 17 tonight, you know. Alright, you go enjoy your series. I gotta go eat my dinner now

Whoooopeeee!!!! Is this good news or what? According to an article on Malaysiakini titled Fuel Prices Down By 15c, “The government today announced that fuel prices will further be reduced by 15 sen per litre effective tomorrow”. This means, fuel price is almost back to the RM1.92 per litre before the hike in June. Starting tomorrow, RON97 is RM2 per litre, RON92 RM1.90 and diesel RM1.90. REJOICE!!!!!!
Our fuel tank is almost empty. Can go fill it up to the max after midnight. Ever since the sudden fuel price way back in June, i’ve had to pay so much more for food prices. Being someone who frequents the organic store more than the wet market/supermarket/hypermarket combined, you should have seen the prices or organic goods lately. I doubt if i’ll see organic food prices being lowered even after the fuel price reduction. Why? Cos manufacturers are now citing high electricity tariff. There just isnt a win-win situation for anyone.
From what i understand, we’ll never see fuel price go lower than RM1.92 even though Crude Oil price is way lower when it was at that price. According to the Sinister Minister in charge, Malaysia has far too much palm oil and they would rather encourage the use of Bio-fuel as opposed to petrol. “Hello, good morning, good afternoon, good evening, my dear Minister. You wake up already or not. I dont have a vehicle that uses bio-fuel lah. Go do something about the surplus instead of pushing it onto us poor consumers lah”

I had Toong Gua Tong Sui after lunch just now. I cannot understand this tong sui at all. The owner tells me it’s made of grated winter melon. Ok, i can still feel the grated melon bits in my mouth. But the rest of what they put inside, are just like what you get with your regular ice-kacang. The green and red chewy bits. There’s barley in it too. Nope, not going to order this Toong Gua Tong Sui next time.
Are you following The Gem Of Life series online? I’m going to watch The Gem Of Life Ep 21 online tonight when it airs. The series is becoming interesting. Another 60 episodes to go. Geeee…. i’m so full now. I wonder what i’ll cook for dinner tonight. Something simple like Fish and Vegetables, really nothing fancy. Had better start preparing for dinner early so that i can get to sit down and watch The Gem Of Life streaming as i enjoy my dinner
